FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COVID-19

Q. What protocols do you have in place?

Part of how we value and celebrate our community is by creating safe, healthy environments where we all can thrive!

In order to best provide this at Ignite, we are implementing the following:

  • Social distancing (prioritizing both togetherness and safety)
  • Hand sanitizer stations (feel free to bring your own!)
  • Our flexible refund policy : https://iccinc.org/cancellation-policy

If you are experiencing any COVID-related, cold, or flu symptoms or are feeling unwell, please stay home.

REGISTRATION

Q. Do I need to be a Chapter member to register for Ignite ?

No indeed! We’re excited for all who are interested to attend Ignite !

EVENT DETAILS

Q. When do I need to arrive at Ignite ?

Adults and Students, plan to arrive at Ignite between 4 and 6 PM on Thursday, January 13. You'll be able to check in then. Retreat activities will begin at 6 PM.

The address for the retreat center is:

  •           Cedine Ministries
  •           333 Cedine Camp Road
  •           Spring City, TN 37381

The event will end at 11 am on Monday, January 17, 2022.

Cedine is located in the Eastern Time Zone.

Q. What airport should I fly into/out of?

The closest airport is Chattanooga, TN. ICC does not provide shuttle service from or to the airports. Please email [email protected] for more info. Once at Ignite  there is no need for a vehicle.

Chattanooga is also in the Eastern Time Zone!

Q. What do I wear?

Ignite  is a camp environment. Casual, safe, and comfortable are key, so please bring warm clothes and shoes appropriate for ice, snow, rain, mud, etc. as the weather can be unpredictable during outdoor activities. (The main building is kept warm so dressing in layers may be helpful.) Watch for special details about our dress-up Saturday night event! And of course, students will all be wearing Ignite  t-shirts on Monday, which they’ll receive onsite.

Remember that the majority of communication is non-verbal, and the way we dress can be used to communicate a message. ICC encourages students to consider appropriateness to the situation and respect.

Q. What should I bring?

Be sure to bring a notebook, pens/pencils, sticky notes, a Bible, and anything else you'd like for taking notes. You’ll also want to bring bedding (for a twin), pillow, and a towel for your stay in the cabins. For those with the Housing Upgrade, bedding, a pillow, and towels will be provided. Don’t forget toiletries!

If you're flying in and need help with bedding, ask our community on one of our Facebook pages: ICC Coach Connections or YSG Idea Share.

Q. Is there preparation before I get to Ignite ?

No, no preparation except to pack!

Q. I registered as a Coach. What will I be doing?

We call parents "coaches," since they are the first coach their student has!

As a Coach, you will take part in discussions, workshops and special time to connect with other coaches. Everything is geared to help you take home everything you learned at Ignite  to coach your students even better.

TOURNAMENT

Q. Is there a tournament at Ignite this year?

No! Our tournament season will feature a kick-off tournament online prior to Ignite. Mark your calendars for the New Year's Global Tournament being held January 7–8 for everyone in our global community.  Several other tournaments are scheduled through May.

HOUSING

Q. What kind of housing is provided for registrants at the Ignite Winter Retreat?

You will be housed in the retreat center’s spacious cabins. There will be approx 9 people per cabin, with at least one adult as chaperone. Each cabin has its own bathroom with several showers, toilets, and sinks. There are two cabins per building.

Q. I am an adult. Where will I be staying?

Community is one of the major focuses of Ignite,  so in order to best build community at this event, we will be housing adults and students together in the cabins.

The hotel is also available for an additional fee.

Q. Some of my friends/chapter members are attending. Can I stay with them?

You may make your request by filling out THIS FORM.  We have limited ability but will see what we can do to accommodate you. We realize that, although it is FUN to cabin with friends, this may be the only opportunity for students to BECOME friends with people across the organization and outside their local area. We intentionally mix students from different tracks and different states whenever possible to facilitate this inter-area relationship-building.

Q. Will my family be housed in separate cabins?

Yes. Unless specifically requested we will not house families together. This encourages students to build new relationship and to learn to express their ideas in a safe environment. It’s this diversity that builds our global community.

Q. I have a unique family situation. Can you accommodate me?

If your family has special needs, please feel free to email them to [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q. Do we need to bring linens for the beds?

Yes. Be sure to bring linens/sleeping bag, pillow and towel. Beds are twin size. Don’t forget to bring your toiletries and your Bible! If bringing bedding is a real hardship, let us know and we will do our best to find some.

If you're staying in the hotel, linens, a pillow, and towels are provided for you.

Q: I have special dietary needs. Can I bring all my own food?
